The Flyby 4/25/18 – The Commander of Death Returns

This week on The Flyby, Cranky T-Rex and Sarjex are shaking in their boots because The 100 is back and so is the dreaded Wanheda, proving yet again that nothing can kill Clarke before she kills it first, not even a massive storm of radiation that turned pretty much the entire planet into a barren wasteland. Speaking of barren wastelands, we still have to talk about the latest from the Arrowverse, where good ideas go to die.  Kara finally went off on Mon-El in Supergirl, which is certainly a far cry from being mercy-killed like Clarke’s last boyfriend but might...

The Flyby 4/18/18 – Dinosaur Discrimination

On this episode of The Flyby, Cranky T-Rex and Sarjex express their shock at just how discriminatory the Arrowverse is to dinosaurs. This week featured not one, but two! dinosaurs that were enslaved by villains and then brutally beaten by our so-called heroes.  It started with the not-so-triumphant return of Supergirl, wherein Mon-El choked a cyborg carnosaur to death with his cape, a trick he will apparently be teaching Kara in the future.  Then over on The Flash, Ralph Dibney punched a reanimated rex back to bones.  At least their was some karmic retribution for him. Arrow stuck to resurrecting people instead...

The Flyby 4/11/18 – Performance Issues

On this episode of the The Flyby, Sarjex and Cranky T-Rex lament the pathetic impotence of the Arrowverse heroes.  None of them seem capable of producing the spark they did back when they debuted, and each episode seems to be another attempt to stall for time, even though we should be building up to a rousing climax by now. Never has this been clearer than with The Flash’s return this week, as this latest episode was another in a long line of starts and stops.  Barry gets all puffed up at Ralph only to be instantly deflated by a gender-swapped meta with a silly...

The Flyby 04/04/18 – Return of the League of Expositional Assassins

Tonight on The Flyby, Green Arrow is back, and he’s brought with him the League of Expositional Assassins, who are here to deliver exposition and then vanish into the night.  This time they’re here to tell us all about some secret artifact Malcolm Merlyn left behind before he was exploded.  Maybe Cranky T-Rex and Sarjex will actually enjoy this diversion from the already meandering Arrow season? Either way, it was certainly a harder week for Jefferson Pierce as Black Lightning suffered the indignity of being locked up after being framed for a crime by the evil organization that has figured out...

The Flyby 3/28/18 – Before Krypton Goes Boom

This week on The Flyby, Sarjex and Cranky T-Rex have another new show to try out.  This time it’s SyFy’s Krypton, a prequel about Superman’s grandpa as a teenage rebel with a snazzy leather jacket and a penchant for bar fights.  Both our hosts expressed skepticism that a Superman show without Superman could be any more interesting than Gotham, the Batman show without Batman in it, and now we get to see whether Krypton can break the mold. Of course before we get to the new show, we’ve got plenty to say about our regular shows, such as some fabulously...
