This week on The Flyby, we stop trying to ice skate uphill and instead choose to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Wesley Snipes donning a pair of black sunglasses and kicking some vampire ass.  That’s right fellow daywalkers, Blade turns 20 years old this week, even if certain bloggers would very much like you to think that Black Panther is the first and only black superhero movie to ever grace this world.

In fact, while much ado was made about Wakanda this year, not only did Blade beat T’Challa to the punch by a couple decades, he got to the silver screen before almost all of Marvel’s current heavyweights, including the X-Men (2000), Spider-Man (2002), the Hulk (2003), and the man that started the MCU himself, Iron Man (2008).  He even did the R-rated thing before Deadpool ever had a chance to make it cool.

So Cranky T-Rex and Sarjex decided they’d take a look back at Blade to see if it’s a movie that is indeed best forgotten or if its reputation as one of the first genuinely good comic book movies of the new era still holds up today.

So all you muthas better tune in tonight at 10 PM ET and join us in the chat right here on The
